The revolutionary Krank hook pattern - launched to critical acclaim from both anglers and the angling media last year - is now available in a ready-tied format, produced to Tom Dove's exacting specifications. Available in barbed and barbless versions, in sizes 10 to 2, the new Krank Rigs utilise the Kamo coated hook link material with a small section stripped back to allow the ultra-wide-gape Krank pattern to take hold consistently. They are tied with a size-eight swivel to allow attachment to lead clips and inline leads. The rigs cover every carp angling situation with the range of hook sizes - from day ticket carping for double-figure fish to Euro giants - and they're perfect for use in conjunction with wafter or balanced hook baits, one of Tom Dove's favourite presentations. Each pack comes with a free set of Extenda bait stops, allowing a variety of different sized baits to be used on the same length hair, from a single grain of Fake Food plastic corn on the smaller sizes up to double 20mm offerings on the size 2. The sizes 10, 8 and 6 are tied on 15lb Kamo, size 4 on 20lb and size 2 on 30lb.
Impact Bombs, There are times when you don’t want as much bait as a Method feeder typically delivers, but do still need something near your hookbait, and this is where the new Guru Impact Bomb comes into its own. The Impact Bomb is basically a flat pear shaped lead with a hole in the middle of it and a cage which bait can be pushed into, so that it will will stay in situ during the cast, with the majority of it ending up close to your hookbait – determined by how long your hook length is. These bombs have a wide variety of different uses, both on lakes and rivers, and the ‘cage’ can be filled with Method mix or dampened pellets to deliver a scent trail close to your rig. This is especially useful when you are considering fishing a straight lead but still want some bait in the area, so will also be a good choice in the colder months. They come in four different sizes – 2/3oz, 1.1oz, 1.5oz and 2oz – which covers everything from flicking a lead down the margins to fishing at longer range, or holding bottom on slower flowing rivers. Their shape and weight-forward design also means that they cast incredibly well, and accurately, and are less susceptible to catching a crosswind than a conventional Method feeder can be. The Impact Bomb is finished in Guru’s ‘commercial camo’ coating and comes with a swivel attachment, making it suitable for use with a variety of different set ups, including on a lead clip, running on the main line, or on a paternoster.
Intelligent Backlead, This range of backleads can be attached using one hand, which is vital for trouble-free backleading. They are coated in the same way as our leads, and will pop off the line if snaged or weeded, hence the 'Intelligent' part of the name! They are available in 0.25oz, 0.5oz, 1oz and 1.5oz versions and come in packs of three.
SkyRaider Spod, Never before has carp fishing seen such an aerodynamic, long-distance bait rocket. This will put yards on your spodding capability and in the hands of any good caster 150 yards is easily possible. It has a tapered design making it nose-heavy for a streamlined flight. This truly will become recognised as the ultimate long-distance spod. Its curved fins give it true stability in flight and help keep it in the air for as long as possible. Like the Skyliner, the Skyraider also has the large-profile holes making it just as quick to empty, and as easy to retrieve. As with all our spods, we recommend you mix in some groundbait or pellets into your mix. This will enable you to compact the mix into the spod to eliminate any spillage.
