These four different landing net heads will cover any fishing situation that you’re likely to find yourself in, either on a commercial or when fishing matches on rivers and canals.
The Speed 400, Speed 500, Competition 500 and Dual 550 models will handle everything from netting silver fish on light tackle through to bundling big carp into them, and there is an appropriate size and type of mesh for pretty much anything.
The Competition 500 has the finest mesh at 2mm and is perfect for hair-rigged baits as they can’t get caught in the mesh, often destroying your rig in the process!
The two Speed nets have a 6mm mesh to make them incredibly maneuverable through the water. The Dual 550 offers the best of both, with a 6mm mesh body for ease of netting, but with a 2mm mesh base for practicality and fish comfort. This is the largest model so suitable for specimen angling and larger carp.
The alloy frames are incredibly strong, with a durable moulded spreader block and good quality screw thread complete with rubber washer so there is no twist when they’re attached to a net handle.
CARP LINE, If you’re looking for a tough, reliable line that won’t cost you the earth, then Carp Line is definitely the one for you! During testing Carp Line has already become a firm favourite with those who got their hands on the samples, including Elliott Gray and it is now his line of choice when fishing with mono. It is amongst the toughest lines on the market, without being problematic to use, and in any situation where weed or snags come into play it should definitely be your first choice to spool up with. It will handle weed, gravel bars and mussels better than most lines, but if there are signs of abrasion then it is also cheap to re-spool, as it comes on 1000m spools priced at just £12.99 – the price and spool size is the same for each of the five breaking strains available, 8lb, 10lb, 12lb, 15lb and 20lb. The line sinks well, even more so once it has been used a few times, and is a nice subtle SUB-green colour which blends in well with most lake beds and is hard to see even in clear water. For such a tough line it behaves well on the spool and casts well, plus gives a very high knot strength. The low stretch factor makes it ideal for feeling the lead down to the bottom and making sure you get that ‘donk’ and are confident in where your rig has landed. Damian Clarke, who was involved in designing the line, enthused: “With lots of our products, especially fishing lines, we work with some of the best manufacturers in the world. “These guys are pushingthe boundaries in manufacturing to create thinner, lighter and more technically advanced monofilaments, but with Carp Line we took a step back. “Some anglers just wanted something simple and reliable, a does what it says on the tin product, so Carp Line was born!”
Pulse-Line, Pulse line takes advantage of the latest line technology with low-stretch and high abrasion resistance coupled with great casting and sinking properties to create the ultimate mono main line. Great for both feeder and waggler fishing, Pulse comes on 300m spools with a marker at 150m for accurate re-spooling. Available in 3lb, 4lb, 5lb, 6lb, 8lb and 10lb versions.
Krank Choddy, Not long after the Krank hook was conceived, Tom Dove hatched a plan to introduce a chod version, with an out-turned eye. His imagination was captured by the way that the continuously curving shank could mirror the curve of the chod rig, creating what many of us consider to be the ultimate chod hook. Just like the standard Krank hooks, the Krank Choddy has a beaked point and slight offset that combine to offer unrivalled hook hold security. They can of course be used with unstripped, coated braid or mono hook links to produce effective bottom-bait rigs too! The Krank Choddy is available in sizes 4, 6, 8 and 10, and in a barbless version too.
