Fluorocarbon line can be a real edge in your fishing, but many of the products on the market aren’t very user-friendly or are of poor quality, but now you no longer need to worry about that!
After extensive testing, both by top match anglers as well as specimen hunters, we can bring you the new PURE fluorocarbon, which will be hitting a tackle shop near you from Monday onwards!
We wanted something which not only performed incredibly well and which you know that you can rely on, but is also easy to use and offers consistency, and in the form of PURE, which is a premium quality fluorocarbon which we have sourced from Japan, we have found the perfect material.
There are ten different diameters available ranging from 0.08mm to 0.30mm, all of which are accurately measured and stated, and corresponding breaking strains from 1lb to 10lb, which will cover everything from the lightest match fishing right up to specimen fishing for species such as tench and barbel.
Many of the Guru team of anglers have already been putting it to good use by winning matches, and specimen hunter Stuart Court used it to good effect recently to land a personal best perch of 4lb 9oz from a river using the 0.22mm version.
PURE is virtually invisible in water due to its refractive index and is also incredibly abrasion resistant and has exceptional strength for its diameter, but still retains enough suppleness to be user-friendly.
It is the perfect choice for use as a hook length material or rig line, and comes on 50m spools. The spools will fit into the Guru EVA luggage and are designed to dispense PURE in a controlled way so that only the length that you need comes off of the spool.
Flatliner Pear Inline, The condensed shape of this lead, coupled with the two flat sides makes it the perfect lead for bolt rigs at short to medium range. By its very nature the flat pear lead lends itself to being fished on marginal slopes, the sides or back or gravel bars and in rivers. But, in fact it is one of the most effective shapes at short to medium range because it holds so well on the lake bed and offers fantastic impact hooking potential. We have also seen that this type of lead is by far the most like a stone on the lake bed and during the Underwater filming this lead blended in better than any other. There's a popular misconception that flat leads sit on silt. This does not happen, any lead finds the easiest path through the water so instead of fluttering down to the lake bed, a nose-heavy flat lead like this will plummet down side on and nose first, making it less effective in the silt than say a Swivel Pear lead. Having said that, it is devastating on gravel and is Danny's first choice in these close-range, hard-bottomed situations. Danny told us that, "When Underwater part 3 I tried a Flatliner Pear on the steep gravel slope to see if it really did hook the carp quicker than a swivel lead of the same shape. To my amazement it really did! I had been testing the lead clips for so long I had ignored the inline lead - not any more!"
Embryo Calender 2018, Dear fellow anglers There are several reasons why you may decide to purchase this calendar; it may well be for the wonderful photographs from the world of carp fishing that will inspire you to get out there and fish. Or perhaps the monthly insights from ‘part man, part carp’ Simon Scott, or the detailed information on moon phases, including the ‘hot’ days when you really need to be out on the bank in 2018. That said, the most important reason to buy this calendar is that £7 from every purchase will be spent directly on otter fencing, and you will be helping to protect the future of clubs and syndicates that simply cannot afford to do it themselves. As Embryo takes no profit from the provision of this service, the sale of just 1000 calendars could provide the funds to fence a 10 acre lake. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the production of this calendar, all of whom have done so completely free of charge. Even the printers have made a loss to produce it for us, and the tackle shop you are standing in right now has taken zero income from it. Together we can make a real difference to the sport we all love... Thank you for your contribution. Danny Fairbrass Founder of Embryo Angling Habitats
Marker Elastic, Our marker elastic will help you to easily mark your lines, ensuring that you can fish accurately, even at night. Once you've found your spot and clipped up, simply tie the elastic to your line next to the tip, a specific rod ring or the spigot using the knot shown here. When you come to recast, as long as the elastic lines up with that spot on your rod, you know that you're clipped at the right distance simple. Our elastic is hi-viz and grips the line extremely well, yet is easy to remove when you no longer need it!
F1 Maggot Hooks, The new F1 Maggot hook is now in tackle shops and is the perfect shape for fishing smaller baits. It has been designed with maggots in mind, as well as being great for other similar baits such as casters and pinkies, as it has a fine wire that won’t damage these baits. It has a super fine, straight point and the shape, with a special gape and angled point, which means that these baits sit perfectly on the bend and it reduces the chance of hooking being impeded. Because of the slightly ‘open’ angle of the point, you’ll hit more bites on these hooks! The F1 Maggot is PTFE coated which results in a smoother surface, aiding penetration and preventing rusting during rig storage between sessions, as well as reducing ‘glare’ as the finish is duller. They feature a neat spade end and are barbless, with a range of sizes from 14 to 22 to cover everything from fishing on commercials for silver fish or F1s, right down to snatching bits on canals in the winter, and are suitable for use with the pole, waggler or feeder.
