Let's be clear, from the very start - our current camouflaged coating is, we believe, the best on the market by some distance. However, let it not be said that we don't listen to you guys, because our new textured coating has been developed due to massive demand for our famous leads with a textured coating. It's not been easy though, in fact, the development has taken a little while to perfect. Our lead production manager, Sean Woody' Stockdale, had this to say about the leads, This isn't a new concept, far from it in fact. However, we couldn't ignore the demand. We carefully considered the combinations of coating granules to produce the subtlest, matt-finish camouflage. It wouldn't be right to herald the release of the new range without getting a word from the gaffer. Dan told us, Ever since I started, I've paid great attention to camouflage aspect of my rig. This has permeated every aspect of Korda's product range. This addition to our lead range satisfies the almost constant demand for textured leads in colours that actually match what you're fishing over. I stress this point because 90 per cent of the existing textured leads do not match what they will be lying on, which actually makes them stand out more. The range has been kept concise to keep the majority of anglers happy and we will consider expanding it as demand dictates. Personally, I would use either the smooth or textured leads because our underwater filming proves that both have superb camouflage properties. So, what are the advantages of a textured lead? Well, the coating is matt, so it simply won't reflect light in the same way as a conventionally coated lead. The textured finish will pick up sediment from the lake bed, adding to the overall subtle effect. In fact, these leads get better and better with use! The characteristics that allow the leads to take on sediment will also allow the leads to absorb flavours, glugs or dips. Leaving a few leads to soak in Goo is sure to add an extra dimension of attraction.
X-Safe Speed Stems, Developed by top match anglers Steve Ringer, Adam Rooney and Pemb Wrighting, a feeder or lead equipped with the X-Safe Speed Stems allows for ultra-quick re-casts - all you need to do is unclip the whole feeder or lead from the main line and attach a new ready-to-go rig. Using this system, the Guru team have won countless matches this year with the Speed Stems allowing anglers to have multiple feeders or leads set up and ready to recast within seconds of a fish or bringing a rig in, saving valuable minutes over the course of a match or pleasure session when speed is the key. Also incorporated into the stems is a Speed Bead, which allows hook lengths to be changed in seconds via a small quick-change swivel which pulls back into the bead to secure it to the rig. The stems fit Guru's existing method, pellet and Hybrid feeders and the inline lead range, easily slotting into the existing holes to make an instant quick change, elasticated feeder or lead set-up. Just tie a small loop onto the main line, secure it to the stem via the streamlined crook and small tail rubber, and it's ready to go. The X-Safe is the only safe elasticated system on the market, with the whole elasticated section easily pulling through the stem so any fish lost due to a main line breakage or picking up a cracked-off rig will be able to easily lose the feeder or lead. Top fisheries such as White Acres have recognised this safety aspect and now insist that anglers use the X-Safe system. The stems are available in two lengths for short and medium to long-range fishing and two elastic strengths black and white for targeting smaller or larger fish. For example, the black (heavy) elastic is great for larger carp and big bream whilst the lighter white version is perfect for F1s, bream, skimmers and smaller carp.
Nanny Pat Hat, The 'Nanny Pat' hat was first hand-knitted by Korda's very own Jon Mann's nanny and was so well received that we decided to cement its status as a Korda classic. The on-brand colours and subtle yet stylish Korda Sunrise logo reinforce its signature appeal. It's a huge favourite of Ali Hamidi and you'll see him wearing it on the bank this winter!
SUBline, SUBline is fast becoming a modern classic. It's a true big-fish hunter's line, with all the performance and reliability that you could ask for in a monofilament main line. It's incredibly tough and abrasion resistant, yet it casts extremely well, thanks to its suppleness. As you'd expect, it also sinks like a brick, making it the go-to line for many of the carp scene's biggest names.
