The classic pear lead will cast a very very long way, almost as far as the Distance Casting and it is less affected by cross winds because the shape is very condensed. This means that the Pear lead is suited to most carp fishing situations when fishing anything up to the very limit of your casting ability. The dumpy shape can be used to your advantage in silt. Try using a very light pear lead say 1oz or 2oz and actually let the lead plug into the silt, this will dramatically increase the resistance to a carp moving away with the rig, so what feels like a light lead in your hand is transformed into a heavy lead in the fishing situation. Because the lead has a large rounded end it makes 'feeling' the lead hit the bottom easier than more slender or pointed shapes. If you are new to this technique this lead will make the job easier. The pear lead is also ideal in a solid PVA bag because it can be pushed down into one of the corners. This makes the bag nose heavy and so more accurate.

Krimps, This clever system will allow us all to reach brand-new heights of neatness in rig creation. The Krimps and Krimp tool have been designed to allow easy rig construction with stiff materials (at the moment we only recommend Hybrid Stiff, Mouth Trap and Boom). In particular, we're really excited about the potential to create extremely neat loops for chod rigs and Boom sections. Not only this, but using Krimps will allow you to create chod rigs that are exactly the same length each and every time. There are two sizes of Krimp available, which have been designed to suit different materials. The smaller one will suit stiff bristle materials like Mouth Trap and stiff coated braids, like our Hybrid Stiff, and the larger one is perfect for really thick materials (like 30lb plus mono or the 35lb Boom). The product development team went to extreme lengths to make sure that the Krimps and Krimp tools were exactly right, having to overcome various problems along the way. The complexity of getting the tool and Krimps just right has meant that this has been a long development, but we're sure that it's been well worth the wait.

Krank Rig, The revolutionary Krank hook pattern - launched to critical acclaim from both anglers and the angling media last year - is now available in a ready-tied format, produced to Tom Dove's exacting specifications. Available in barbed and barbless versions, in sizes 10 to 2, the new Krank Rigs utilise the Kamo coated hook link material with a small section stripped back to allow the ultra-wide-gape Krank pattern to take hold consistently. They are tied with a size-eight swivel to allow attachment to lead clips and inline leads. The rigs cover every carp angling situation with the range of hook sizes - from day ticket carping for double-figure fish to Euro giants - and they're perfect for use in conjunction with wafter or balanced hook baits, one of Tom Dove's favourite presentations. Each pack comes with a free set of Extenda bait stops, allowing a variety of different sized baits to be used on the same length hair, from a single grain of Fake Food plastic corn on the smaller sizes up to double 20mm offerings on the size 2. The sizes 10, 8 and 6 are tied on 15lb Kamo, size 4 on 20lb and size 2 on 30lb.
LWGF Feeder Rigs, If you’re looking for a top quality ready-tied rig for feeder fishing that takes the hassle out of tying your own, then look no further than the new Guru Feeder Special Rigs. The Light Wide Gape Feeder hook pattern has been a big success and is the hook of choice for many feeder anglers, so it made perfect sense to use this spade end pattern here and it will be popular with those of you who aren’t confident in tying on your own spade ends! These rigs come tied on 100cm of our superb high-tech Japanese N-Gauge mono, which is incredibly strong, low diameter and super clear, and the breaking strain used has been matched to the relevant hook size. Our existing range of ready rigs have been a massive success, and like those the Feeder Special comes supplied on an EVA spool which will fit neatly into the Guru Rig Box, with eight rigs on a spool. These rigs are perfect for many types of feeder or bomb fishing, and for a wide variety of species such as bream, tench, silver fish or even smaller carp.
