A pack that has all the components to help you construct safe lead clip systems. If you were attached to a really big carp, would you sacrifice the lead to guarantee you landed the carp? We would, and it's a small price to pay. The basic rule of the lead clip system is the lead must eject before the swivel pulls out. If the swivel comes out first the lead will never eject. Instead, the line will pull back and forth through the system like a running rig leaving the lead snagged and the fish too! In our opinion, the lead clip system is the best way to ensure a fish is not left with a lead because the line does not have to pull through anything for the lead to discharge. Use the system correctly and the lead will eject when you want it to. One thing that's for certain is that when the lead comes off the carp rises to the surface, allowing you to lead it over any underwater obstacles rather than having to drag it through them. This is the most versatile system when it comes to presenting a bait on any lake bed and as such should be chosen as your number one system. Simply follow the steps to make it safe and effective.
Kaptor Wide Gape, These hooks represent the biggest breakthrough in hook manufacture... ever. We took one of the truly iconic hook patterns and coated it with the industrys first coloured PTFE finish to make them blend in even better. The ultra-sharp Kaptor point has been left uncoated, because the development team had noticed that uncoated points were sharper. To preserve the eye-wateringly sharp point, each hook is capped with a rubber blob. This process ensures that the sharpest point in the carp world stays just that. Each hook is then clipped into a bespoke packet so that it stays pristine until you need it. The Kaptor Wide Gape range is available in Weed Green and Gravelly Brown camouflage. The colours have been carefully selected to closely match the most common lake bed conditions. The Korda team is in an excellent position to do this because of our extensive underwater experience. What this all means is that carp will find your rig much more difficult to spot on the lake bed, even up close. The Kaptor Wide Gape is a fantastically versatile hook that can be used on bottom bait presentations like Danny Fairbrass pop-up corn rig.
Kwik Link, These clever bits of metalware allow you to change hook links or leads in the blink of an eye. Danny says: I now use the Kwik Links for all of my fishing. I attach the link to the swivel that is held inside the inline or lead clip. I then tie an overhand loop in the end of the hook link making sure I tighten the knot fully, especially when I use the Hybrid Stiff material. It is actually best to tighten the knot over steam to ensure that it beds down fully. I slide a Tapered Silicone Sleeve onto the hook link before clipping it onto the Kwik Link. I then slide the silicone up over the Kwik Link to stop any chance of the hook link coming free during the cast. I can now change hook links within seconds and I don't have to pull the swivel in and out of the lead clip. This prevents any wear and tear and so extends the working life of each clip. The longer the swivel stays in the firmer the grip becomes. This ensures the lead will pull off the clip if it gets snagged during the fight.
