To use leadcore safely, leaders need to be constructed to exacting standards. That's why we've taken the doubt out and produced ready-tied versions that are every bit as good, and as safe, as the ones that team Korda tie themselves. What's more, being as they're constructed from the toughest of all leader materials, they're perfect for most things that UK carp fishing will throw at you. We will be releasing lead clip and Ring Swivel leaders in the middle of November. The Ring Swivel leaders have been designed for use with inline leads and the lead clip versions feature our new lead clips, which can be used semi-fixed or running and with lead clips or Kwik Links. You get three leaders per pack. Both versions are 1m long and are tied from our 50lb Kable camouflaged leadcore, which has won many fans this year already. In a world that imposes huge pressures on our time, any time saving products are very welcome, and these leaders are just that. You can literally use them straight out of the packet, with total confidence.
Reaper Rest, The ultimate rod rest system! The system front and rear rests have been purpose designed to be both versatile and ultra-reliable. They have been designed to keep the rod on the rest during the most powerful of bites. The front rest features grippy rubber overmould and adjustable, double-ended arms to retain the rod. The rear rest also doubles as a front rest and both feature line-friendly, built-in line-guide systems.
Kaptor Choddy, Chod-rig fans rejoice, because you can now have the finest chod-rig hook ever made, in two subtle camou colours. So why camou a hook? Well, ever since Danny Fairbrass founded the Safezone principle, our subtle camou end tackle has been catching more carp for thousands of carpers. Its those little extra percentage points that add up to the capture of a lifetime and having camouflaged hooks definitely counts towards having that season-defining session or gets you one step closer to that landmark carp. As with the rest of the Kaptor range, the Choddys have been produced in Weed Green and Gravel Brown colours, to match most lake bed situations. The clever green Kap that protects the needle point on a Kaptor also prevents the point becoming coated in the PTFE camou coating during the manufacturing process, which means that theyre that little bit sharper than other similar coated hooks neat eh? The hooks themselves are just the same as our existing Choddys all those key features such as the outturned eye, extra-strong wire gauge, specially configured bend and claw-like beaked point, remain on the Kaptor version. Perhaps weve just created the ultimate in chod-rig hooks? We think so, and we think that you will too!
QM1, Just one look at this radical hook pattern will tell you that it's designed to stand out from the crowd. The unique, heavily swept shape and short shank have been precisely engineered to make sure that you land more fish. This is carried through into a sharp, beaked point that'll provide super-secure hook holds. Each QM1 is PTFE coated to prolong its slick, sharpness. So, why the unique shape? Guru teamed up with mercurial commercial matchman Steve Ringer to design the perfect hook for hair rigging baits on bolt presentations. Their designs may look different to patterns that you're familiar with, but the proof is in the hooking and you WILL lose fewer fish using the QM1s. The specimen market has quickly cottoned on to the effectiveness of the QM1 and some of the very best (and we mean VERY best) specimen hunters use the larger sizes while hair rigging for barbel and chub on rivers or tench and bream on stillwaters. The QM1 is available in sizes 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 and the hooks come supplied in a protective box.
Pear Swivel, The classic pear lead will cast a very very long way, almost as far as the Distance Casting and it is less affected by cross winds because the shape is very condensed. This means that the Pear lead is suited to most carp fishing situations when fishing anything up to the very limit of your casting ability. The dumpy shape can be used to your advantage in silt. Try using a very light pear lead say 1oz or 2oz and actually let the lead plug into the silt, this will dramatically increase the resistance to a carp moving away with the rig, so what feels like a light lead in your hand is transformed into a heavy lead in the fishing situation. Because the lead has a large rounded end it makes 'feeling' the lead hit the bottom easier than more slender or pointed shapes. If you are new to this technique this lead will make the job easier. The pear lead is also ideal in a solid PVA bag because it can be pushed down into one of the corners. This makes the bag nose heavy and so more accurate.
