The Black & Whites are a bobbin that we believe offers the ultimate in performance and functionality, alongside classic style and versatility. They perform as well as they look, and they look great!
There are four sizes in the range, and each comes with two interchangeable weights, so depending on the situation you are faced with, and what you want your indicators to achieve, you can customise the weight and tension applied to your line. Also supplied are two different length chains - the standard 6 inch and a longer 9 inch version - for you to choose between, depending on personal preference.
The Hockey sticks that come with the Black & Whites are fully compatible with the Stow range of indicators, so once you have attached the magnetic bayonet-style hockey sticks supplied with your Black & Whites, you can change between styles instantly, without having to unscrew your alarms.
The Black & Whites have a mechanism that runs through the body of the bobbin, allowing you to adjust the grip-strength of the line clip with a simple twist, again allowing for unrivalled customisation of the hanger. The Black & Whites are a two-sided design, one a solid white or black plastic, and the other a clear plastic that houses the super-bright new Mini Isotopes.
We believe there is a bobbin in the range for every fishing situation you will find yourself in, and whether you choose the black or white version, you can do it in fine style with the glorious Black & Whites sat proudly on your set-up.
Korda operations director Damian Clarke explained:
“The original idea behind having clear and white came from an angler who was fishing on Becontree Lake, in Dagenham, he was making monkey climbers in that style and we thought they would make a great bobbin design.
“The Stow indicators have been incredibly popular, but there are plenty of anglers out there who prefer a bobbin that hangs on the line, so the Black & Whites are the perfect choice for them. They have an integral, adjustable line clip, and have a very classic look which is different to other bobbins already on the market."
Guru Landing Nets, These four different landing net heads will cover any fishing situation that you’re likely to find yourself in, either on a commercial or when fishing matches on rivers and canals. The Speed 400, Speed 500, Competition 500 and Dual 550 models will handle everything from netting silver fish on light tackle through to bundling big carp into them, and there is an appropriate size and type of mesh for pretty much anything. The Competition 500 has the finest mesh at 2mm and is perfect for hair-rigged baits as they can’t get caught in the mesh, often destroying your rig in the process! The two Speed nets have a 6mm mesh to make them incredibly maneuverable through the water. The Dual 550 offers the best of both, with a 6mm mesh body for ease of netting, but with a 2mm mesh base for practicality and fish comfort. This is the largest model so suitable for specimen angling and larger carp. The alloy frames are incredibly strong, with a durable moulded spreader block and good quality screw thread complete with rubber washer so there is no twist when they’re attached to a net handle.
Polar Kombats, These are the trousers to reach for when the temperature drops. They have a 120 gram-per-square-metre polar-fleece lining from top to bottom, which keeps out the cold, right down to the very coldest temperatures that we experience before the lakes freeze! The outer shell of the Polar Kombats has a DWR coating that beads water, ensuring that you stay dry, as well as warm. Just like the Original Kombats, the Polar Kombats are blessed with an array of pockets, nine in all, two of which are hidden inside the thigh compartments, and have been specially shaped to allow you to move freely. Finally, the Polar Kombats have the same mosquito repellent incorporated within their very fabric, so any mossies that get going early in the spring, or persist late into the autumn. They are available sizes S(30in waist), M(32in), L(34in) XL(36in), 2XL(38in), 3XL(40in), all of which are regular length.
CARP LINE, If you’re looking for a tough, reliable line that won’t cost you the earth, then Carp Line is definitely the one for you! During testing Carp Line has already become a firm favourite with those who got their hands on the samples, including Elliott Gray and it is now his line of choice when fishing with mono. It is amongst the toughest lines on the market, without being problematic to use, and in any situation where weed or snags come into play it should definitely be your first choice to spool up with. It will handle weed, gravel bars and mussels better than most lines, but if there are signs of abrasion then it is also cheap to re-spool, as it comes on 1000m spools priced at just £12.99 – the price and spool size is the same for each of the five breaking strains available, 8lb, 10lb, 12lb, 15lb and 20lb. The line sinks well, even more so once it has been used a few times, and is a nice subtle SUB-green colour which blends in well with most lake beds and is hard to see even in clear water. For such a tough line it behaves well on the spool and casts well, plus gives a very high knot strength. The low stretch factor makes it ideal for feeling the lead down to the bottom and making sure you get that ‘donk’ and are confident in where your rig has landed. Damian Clarke, who was involved in designing the line, enthused: “With lots of our products, especially fishing lines, we work with some of the best manufacturers in the world. “These guys are pushingthe boundaries in manufacturing to create thinner, lighter and more technically advanced monofilaments, but with Carp Line we took a step back. “Some anglers just wanted something simple and reliable, a does what it says on the tin product, so Carp Line was born!”
Micro Rig Swivel, From bait attachment, to combi-rig construction, the Micro Rig Swivel has a host of rig applications. It's perhaps most widely used sliding on the shank of a hook, forming the blow-back element of many rigs. Crucially, it has the same non-reflective coating that our other rig components are blessed with, eliminating any glint that might otherwise spook feeding fish.
