These hooks are true beasts! The short shank, strongly forged bend, slight offset and heavy wire gauge leave you in doubt as to their fish-stopping credentials. They've been produced to take the securest hook holds and subdue the very biggest fish in challenging situations in the UK or abroad. They are particularly useful for fishing in snaggy situations, where that little bit of extra strength is vital. They're perfect for a range of presentations, including popular pop-up and bottom-bait rigs. As with the rest of the Korda hook range, the Kontinentals are produced by the finest Japanese hook manufacturer to our stringent specification. The range includes barbed hooks from sizes ten right up to two.
Square Lead, Rather than simply producing a standard bomb, which have remained largely unchanged since they were invented, Alex Bones decided to look at exactly what the modern angler needed from a lead. The Square leads are the result and they've been tailored to fishing on sloping lakebeds, such as those found around islands and margins. Because the fishing on many commercial waters now centres on these spots, it's vital that the lead can't roll down the slope when it's landed bang on the money. The flat sides of the square lead ensure that it won't. What's more, the dumpy, compact shape makes for the best bolt-rig effect possible, meaning that you'll hook more fish than with conventional leads. Because these leads are a little heavier than many used for match or pleasure fishing they are particularly effective at counteracting the drag effect of a PVA bag as it flies through the air. The Square leads are finished in with a coating that's been formulated to match the lakebed found in most commercial venues. There are three sizes of lead available, on third of an ounce, two thirds of an ounce and one ounce.
Flying Backleads, Korda Flying Backleads take line concelament to a new level! These little weights can be attached and detached from the line without needing to cut your rig off. They feature a recessed plastic insert that ensures that they fly back up your main line on the cast, helping to pin it to the bottom way back from your rig. We produce three different sizes and the lightest will fly much further up the line than the heaviest ones, allowing you to control your line lay.
Method Feeder, Traditionally, there was no particular science to hook bait placement within the method ball and your bait could even become trapped inside or under the feeder frame. Guru has, quite literally, turned this upside down. Commercial master Steve Ringer engineered a groundbreaking hook bait platform, which sits on the opposite side of the feeder to the main weight loading, ensuring that the hook bait sits on top of the feeder cast after cast. The platform itself is positioned on X-shaped, vented arms that are configured to minimize tangles and allow maximum grip, ensuring that your groundbait can be loaded easily onto the feeder. One cast with a Guru Method Feeder and you'll understand why it's shaped like it is. The team made long, stable casting a real priority and the weight-forward design really delivers this. These feeders cut across testing crosswinds, like a dart, allowing you to consistently hit the spot, effortlessly building your swim. The colour of the frame is anything but an afterthought. Steve drew upon what he knows of the underwater environment to choose a colour that melts inconspicuously into most lake bed types. The unique X-Safe elastic system acts as a buffer during the fight, helping to reduce hook pulls at the net. Not only that, but thanks to the innovative design, it's 100 per cent safe for the fish. Should you lose a fish and leave it attached to the feeder, the elastic will simply pull free, allowing the fish to ditch the feeder. The Method feeders are available in four sizes and all sizes of feeder are completely interchangeable and spare elastics and tubes are available separately.
Eazi-Melt PVA String, Spread-Em PVA Tape. This woven tape has a coarse texture to its flat cross section. This makes it perfect for stringers because the texture will actually hold the baits apart even with the force of the cast. It is not necessary to tie this onto the hook either, because of the woven element, all you have to do is hook the point of the hook through it, it will not tear on the cast and this ensures no residue is left around the hook once the tape has melted. This material is very strong when dry, making it ideal for tying up the top of solid PVA bags. Eazi-Melt PVA String We recommend you double it up by pulling your baits onto a loop of string and then hand the string over the hook before pulling the top bait back up against the hook to tighten the loop so the loop cannot slip back off the hook in flight. Do not use this product for tying the hair up tight to the hook, if it is pulled too tight the water cannot attack the PVA strands in the middle of the braid and the knot may remain, we recommend going over to the Kwik-Melt solid tape for this and any application where you need to tie a very tight over hand knot. You will find this string super strong when dry making it ideal for tying up the top of PVA bags where a small amount residue will do no harm to your presentation. Kwik Melt Tape Kwik Melt tape has become the favourite PVA tape for many of our most-admired big-carp anglers. It's great for stringers, as well as tying off PVA bags and securing hairs on the cast. As the name suggests, Kwik Melt dissolves reliably even in cold conditions. It is supplied as conventional 10mm tape, as well as 5mm twin-tape.
