Chod-rig fans rejoice, because you can now have the finest chod-rig hook ever made, in two subtle camou colours. So why camou a hook? Well, ever since Danny Fairbrass founded the Safezone principle, our subtle camou end tackle has been catching more carp for thousands of carpers. Its those little extra percentage points that add up to the capture of a lifetime and having camouflaged hooks definitely counts towards having that season-defining session or gets you one step closer to that landmark carp. As with the rest of the Kaptor range, the Choddys have been produced in Weed Green and Gravel Brown colours, to match most lake bed situations. The clever green Kap that protects the needle point on a Kaptor also prevents the point becoming coated in the PTFE camou coating during the manufacturing process, which means that theyre that little bit sharper than other similar coated hooks neat eh? The hooks themselves are just the same as our existing Choddys all those key features such as the outturned eye, extra-strong wire gauge, specially configured bend and claw-like beaked point, remain on the Kaptor version. Perhaps weve just created the ultimate in chod-rig hooks? We think so, and we think that you will too!
Marker Braid, This braid casts superbly well, thanks to its low diameter, and transmits the feel of the lake bed accurately back to your rod, allowing you to find the very best feeding areas with your marker float setup. It is hard-wearing and has high knot strength, which is key when you consider just how much punishment that your marker setup is subject to over the course of a year. The Marker braid is finished in a SUB-Green colour, to make it as unobtrusive as possible. There are 300m on each spool, so you'll be able to spool up more than once, as long as you back your spool up. We recommend that you use a 30lb Arma-Kord shock leader to take the force of the cast. You can attach this using a back-to-back grinner knot.
IQ D-Rigs, These IQ D-Rigs are easily the most talked-about presentation from the latest Underwater films. Not only that but the rig’s inventor, Danny Fairbrass, has used it to great effect both at home and abroad in the last couple of seasons. He’s been steadily tweaking the rig to get it working perfectly, and you can benefit because it’s now available in ready-tied form. It has to be said that Dan’s version of the D-rig can be a little daunting to tie, so we’ve taken all the complexity out of your fishing with these impeccably tied ready rigs. They have been hand-tied to Dan’s exacting specifications, even down to the whipping knot. The IQ D-rig is a fabulous rig to use for wary carp, thanks to its inherent stiffness and the superb anti-eject properties that the swivel sliding on the large D arrangement gives. The IQ D-rig is perfect for use with a boilie approach and Dan nearly always uses it with one of his wafter hook baits, which just sit above the hook when on the lake bed. The rigs are available in barbed and barbless variants, and in sizes four, which is tied to 15lb IQ2, six, which is tied to 12lb IQ2 and eight, which is tied to 10lb IQ2.
Quick Release Lead Clip, These new lead clips have been designed to smoothly eject the lead in snaggy or weedy conditions. The lead-retaining arm is smoothly configured to allow for seamless ejection and the body features specially engineered grooves that prevent the tail rubber from adhering to the tail of the clip, ensuring a smooth lead drop when you need it most. The clips are of robust construction, so they'll deal with the most brutal casting with big leads and they're available in weed/silt and gravel/clay colours.
