There are times when you don’t want as much bait as a Method feeder typically delivers, but do still need something near your hookbait, and this is where the new Guru Impact Bomb comes into its own.
The Impact Bomb is basically a flat pear shaped lead with a hole in the middle of it and a cage which bait can be pushed into, so that it will will stay in situ during the cast, with the majority of it ending up close to your hookbait – determined by how long your hook length is.
These bombs have a wide variety of different uses, both on lakes and rivers, and the ‘cage’ can be filled with Method mix or dampened pellets to deliver a scent trail close to your rig. This is especially useful when you are considering fishing a straight lead but still want some bait in the area, so will also be a good choice in the colder months.
They come in four different sizes – 2/3oz, 1.1oz, 1.5oz and 2oz – which covers everything from flicking a lead down the margins to fishing at longer range, or holding bottom on slower flowing rivers. Their shape and weight-forward design also means that they cast incredibly well, and accurately, and are less susceptible to catching a crosswind than a conventional Method feeder can be.
The Impact Bomb is finished in Guru’s ‘commercial camo’ coating and comes with a swivel attachment, making it suitable for use with a variety of different set ups, including on a lead clip, running on the main line, or on a paternoster.
Pellet Waggler Rig, This Pellet Waggler Rig is perfect for use under a pellet waggler float. These rigs feature the Pellet Waggler hook, which has been designed for this purpose. It's a super-wide-gaped pattern, which will allow you to hook more fish. The Wasabi point is durable and sharp, which is the most important aspect of any hook
Chod Rig, Our ready-tied chod rigs really are perfection in a packet! Not only are they super-convenient, they're also flawlessly tied. In fact, we're not sure that any of our experienced chod-rig anglers, Danny Fairbrass included, could tie a neater version! Each rig has been tied to exacting standards, using the same knots and techniques that Danny uses for his own rigs. That means that each ready-tied rig has been constructed using Dan's special whipping knot, which gives unrivaled neatness and allows the knot to sit perfectly on the shank. What's more, rather than simply releasing one version, we've taken into consideration the fact that some anglers prefer short choddies, whereas others like a longer version, and released both types. So, if you like your choddies short like Darrell Peck's naked chod rig or, you prefer them longer, like Adam Penning's traditional leadcore rig, then you'll find a rig to suit. The rigs are tied with Mouth Trap, which instantly places them above all the other ready-tied chods on the market, simply because it's the most workable stiff-rig material ever! If your ready-tied chod gets knocked out of shape during a battle, you can simply work it back into shape. The Mouth Trap is tied to the ever-reliable Choddy hook, which practically guarantees a secure hook hold. The rigs are available in both bardbed and barbless versions, which come supplied in packs of three.
Embryo Calender 2018, Dear fellow anglers There are several reasons why you may decide to purchase this calendar; it may well be for the wonderful photographs from the world of carp fishing that will inspire you to get out there and fish. Or perhaps the monthly insights from ‘part man, part carp’ Simon Scott, or the detailed information on moon phases, including the ‘hot’ days when you really need to be out on the bank in 2018. That said, the most important reason to buy this calendar is that £7 from every purchase will be spent directly on otter fencing, and you will be helping to protect the future of clubs and syndicates that simply cannot afford to do it themselves. As Embryo takes no profit from the provision of this service, the sale of just 1000 calendars could provide the funds to fence a 10 acre lake. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the production of this calendar, all of whom have done so completely free of charge. Even the printers have made a loss to produce it for us, and the tackle shop you are standing in right now has taken zero income from it. Together we can make a real difference to the sport we all love... Thank you for your contribution. Danny Fairbrass Founder of Embryo Angling Habitats
