We can say without the slightest hint of hype that the new Specialist Gripper Feeders are the best river feeders available. Literally hundreds of hours of research, design and testing has gone into these beautiful feeders, and the list of attributes bears this out. Let's have a closer look at the features. Perhaps the cleverest is the anti-roll design, which means that the feeder stays the right way up in the very fastest of flows, ensuring perfect presentation. This design, coupled with the surprisingly low-profile of the feeders, increased surface area of the lead and protruding feet means that it'll grip extra well. You'll notice that the feeders are supplied with two rigid stems, one that allows them to be used as an inline system, and the other that allows it to be used as a conventional swivel-type feeder, either running, or semi-fixed on a lead clip. The robust plastic frame is overmoulded onto the lead, which makes it much more hardwearing than conventional feeders. The frame itself is tinted with a subtle camo colour, which blends perfectly with a whole host of lakebed conditions. The rigid stems and weight-forward shape make for a feeder that flies true and long, making casting to tight spots much easier. The Specialist Gripper Feeder is available in two sizes, large and medium, and in 1oz, 2oz, 3oz and 4oz versions.
Interceptor Surface Float, the ultimate all-round surface controller float, with sizes covering everything from under your feet to long range fishing out in the middle of the lake. The colour of these inline floats has been carefully selected to make them as visible as possible from above the surface, so that the angler can see them as clearly as possible, but at the same time are almost invisible to carp below the surface. They are available in a variety of sizes, the smallest being just 5g which is perfect for flicking baits out close to the bank but where freelining won’t give you the casting accuracy or line control that you need. The 15g and 30g sizes are great all-rounders for any situation where you aren’t having to cast at longer range, and for any situation where the fish are further out, or in windy conditions where it can be difficult keeping the bow out of your line, there are 50g and 80g versions which can be cast to the horizon! One feature that is a bit different is the quick-change system that allows you to quickly switch from one size of float to another, simply by sliding it off of your main line and using the specially designed quick-change swivel. This is perfect if the fish suddenly move out of range, or drift close in and you don’t want to be crashing a heavy controller near them. These floats are incredibly buoyant and the inline stem helps to prevent tangles, with a soft insert used to house the quick-change system.
Smart Sonar Pro+, What’s in there for you? It’s what we wonder every time we go angling. Deeper’s range of Smart Sonar’s are your way to explore what lies beneath and hook your trophy catch. They float on the surface, scanning and transmitting detailed bottom and water column data direct to your smartphone or tablet. Get instant readings on depth, bottom structure, vegetation, temperature and fish location to maximise your catch rate. Now shore fishers can access a range of data previously only available from expensive boat consoles.
Inline Plummets, Guru Inline Plummets feature a unique design for unrivalled accuracy when feature and depth finding.Available in three sizes – 10, 20 and 30g – the plummets are designed so the line goes straight through the middle of the plummet’s axis, allowing anglers to find the depth with millimetre accuracy.Traditional plummets are designed so the line goes round the outside of the plummet, but the line isn’t straight up to the float and isn’t a true reflection of the exact depth. This new design also protects the line from contacting damaging debris on the bottom. The three plummets feature the same hardwearing finish first seen on the Hybrid feeder range and a soft, cylindrical latex section to place the hook into. The absence of a cork or foam cylinder on the bottom of the plummet also gives more ‘feel’ when trying to find different bottom types; gravel, silt etc.The three weights cover a wide variety of angling situations, from delicate far-margin plumbing on commercials with the 10g model to deeper venues and running water with the larger 20 and 30g sizes.Guru brand manager Adam Rooney explained: “The Gurus have long thought the traditional design of plummet could be improved upon, and we’ve done just that with this design. Anglers can now plumb the depth and know that the measurement is extremely accurate with the line-through set-up and the orange latex section will last for a long time, unlike the cork inserts used in traditional plummets.”“Finding the depth accurately has become more and more important for effectively targeting species such as carp, F1s and silvers when setting rigs to dead depth or just off the deck, and our Guru anglers have been raving about the design since we started testing.”
HeliSafe, We've been working on a solution to a problem that anglers been faced with for some time, how to safely and consistently discharge the lead when fishing with a helicopter setup. In order to be a true game-changing product, the Heli-Safe had to fulfill some important criteria... One such criterion was the ability to fish chod rigs at range. The heavy leads needed to fish at long range often become a problem once a fish is hooked. The combination of a very short hook link and large lead would often result in dropped fish. Likewise, venues that had been choked by weed often dictated that dropping the lead was paramount, something that just isn't consistently possible with conventional systems. The demand from anglers to produce a drop-off lead system for use in these situations pushed us to develop the product you see before you. The Heli-Safe System enables you to drop the lead when the situation calls for it. When used in conjunction with our unique Helicopter Safety System and unique No-Trace Beads, you can fish a rotary-rig setup in situations that would have previously led to the loss of hooked fish. The system works by employing a pressure-release function, not seen in the angling world until now. The latched lead clip will open once a hooked fish pulls against the angler, allowing the lead to drop free. By threading a Barrel Bead onto the leader above the Heli Safe, you will prevent the lead from discharging, should you pick up weed or other detritus on the retrieve. Once engaged in battle though, the bead will simply pull down and allow the lead to discharge. The unique design enables the angler to choose when to drop the lead, and when to retain it. In situations where it's not necessary to discharge the lead, a small plastic collar (which is supplied in the kit) can be fitted to fix the lead in place.
