An all-natural, lightweight T-shirt that’s super soft against your skin and totally breathable. The Faux Pocket T is made from 100% cotton, with a ‘peach’ finish, that gives a soft feel, thanks to its velvety texture. The name comes from the camouflaged false pocket design that makes this T-shirt equally at home on the high street as on the bank. It’s available in a charcoal colour with subtle Korda logo on the reverse.
Dark Matter Rigs, A lot of thought has gone into this set-up, with Korda’s Neil Spooner having used it for years to perfect it, and it is his ‘take anywhere rig’ that he has used to great effect to land carp of all different sizes! The Wide Gape hook pattern is incredible in terms of it’s hooking potential anyway, but has been enhanced even more by the addition of a short length of shrink tube that helps to make the hook turn even more aggressively when in a carp’s mouth, and a small piece of silicon tubing on the shank of the hook ensures the hair comes off at the optimum point. The rig comes supplied with free extender hair stops, meaning that it is compatible with all different sized baits, and allows you to effectively change the length of the hair and separation between your bait and hook simply by using a different type of bait stop. It is tied on Dark Matter braid which is heavy and sinks incredibly well, meaning that it hugs the contours of the lake bed – although being a braid it can help avoid any chance of a tangle if you add a PVA bag or stringer when you cast out. Different breaking strains of Dark Matter braid have been chosen to make them suitable for the size of hook – with size 8 and size 10 rigs coming on 15lb breaking strain; size 4 and size 6 are on 20lb; and size 2 on 30lb. All of the hook sizes come in a choice of barbed or barbless, and the other end of the hook link is finished with a size 8 swivel attached loop style, and this means that it will fit all the popular lead arrangements, and can also be used on the Kwik Link or QC Swivel.
Marker Leads (Pronged), The sensitivity of the feedback from the pronged lead allows you to identify clear areas in sparse weed to the point where you can pinpoint exactly where the clear spots begin and end. The original probe lead remains an integral part of our range as it’s ideal for skipping the marker lead through the weed whereas the pronged lead would snarl up quite quickly. The pronged lead is for finding small differences to fine tune how you approach your spot. It’s not just about fishing weed effectively, the tremors produced by the pronged marker lead are far greater than a standard probe lead helped again by the fact that we purposely make them without a coating which cushions the lead and dampens feedback. Such sensitivity allows an angler to identify the finer differences and smaller details in gravel and silt too! You can now highlight the spots which transition from rough gravel to tiny pea shingle gravel or even from gravel to sand, you’ll instantly feel the difference down the rod. From thin weed, changes in gravel or finding small hard spots in silt which can be otherwise tough to find, this is the lead for you. The weights available are 2,3 & 4oz. The lightest one combined with a smaller marker float is perfect for fishing close in for example, in a small bay to avoid disturbing the swim too much. The 4oz lead is great for fishing big waters especially if you’re fishing into the wind or combating crosswinds and the 3oz is a great all rounder for the ‘normal’ fishing conditions an angler is faced with.
Guru Landing Nets, These four different landing net heads will cover any fishing situation that you’re likely to find yourself in, either on a commercial or when fishing matches on rivers and canals. The Speed 400, Speed 500, Competition 500 and Dual 550 models will handle everything from netting silver fish on light tackle through to bundling big carp into them, and there is an appropriate size and type of mesh for pretty much anything. The Competition 500 has the finest mesh at 2mm and is perfect for hair-rigged baits as they can’t get caught in the mesh, often destroying your rig in the process! The two Speed nets have a 6mm mesh to make them incredibly maneuverable through the water. The Dual 550 offers the best of both, with a 6mm mesh body for ease of netting, but with a 2mm mesh base for practicality and fish comfort. This is the largest model so suitable for specimen angling and larger carp. The alloy frames are incredibly strong, with a durable moulded spreader block and good quality screw thread complete with rubber washer so there is no twist when they’re attached to a net handle.
Kamo Rig Tubing, Not only does rig tubing stop the hook link from wrapping around the main line on the cast preventing a tangle, it also stops the fish coming in contact with the line during the fight. This is a vital safety aspect of the rig which we feel should not be ignored. Our tubing has a matt finish, which makes it harder to see underwater and most importantly, easy to thread. It comes in three colours, all of which sink without the need for putty. Having said that, we have seen from the underwater footage that the better the rig is pinned to the lake bed the less scared the carp will be. It is also better to get the colour of the tube exactly right for the spot you are fishing and then weight it with extra putty. Our underwater experience tells us our colours are right and extra putty can only enhance the whole set up but is not as essential as getting the colour right.
