These are the trousers to reach for when the temperature drops. They have a 120 gram-per-square-metre polar-fleece lining from top to bottom, which keeps out the cold, right down to the very coldest temperatures that we experience before the lakes freeze! The outer shell of the Polar Kombats has a DWR coating that beads water, ensuring that you stay dry, as well as warm. Just like the Original Kombats, the Polar Kombats are blessed with an array of pockets, nine in all, two of which are hidden inside the thigh compartments, and have been specially shaped to allow you to move freely. Finally, the Polar Kombats have the same mosquito repellent incorporated within their very fabric, so any mossies that get going early in the spring, or persist late into the autumn. They are available sizes S(30in waist), M(32in), L(34in) XL(36in), 2XL(38in), 3XL(40in), all of which are regular length.
DropZone Marker Float, Marker floats are a massive part of our armoury and finding particular spots can often be the difference between a red-letter day and a blank. Although there were some good marker floats already available on the market we still felt that improvements could be made. The first criterion from Danny was that the flight had to be extremely visible, anyone who has seen Danny fishing will know that he likes to fish at range! It also had to be light and buoyant. This took a while to get right but we achieved exactly what we wanted and the Dropzone Marker float was born. The floats are made from a thin but exceptionally durable plastic and come as a pair in their own tough, protective tube. Each pack comes with two flights.
Ring Swivels, PTFE coated ring swivels that have a host of rig-making applications! They are most often used to connect the hook link to the lead system. The size-eight ring swivel fits our lead clips perfectly, giving your rigs an extra degree of movement. The size-11 ring swivels are most often used on helicopter rigs.
Spod Braid, This braid casts superbly well, thanks to its low diameter, allowing you to bait spots right at the limit of your casting ability. You'll notice that it has a rather unusual fluoro green colour, which helps to deter seagulls when baiting up with a throwing stick or floater fishing. Gulls just won't swoop down when the hi-viz line is snaking out across your swim. It is hard-wearing and has high knot strength, which is key when you consider just how much punishment that your spod setup is subject to over the course of a year. There are 300m on each spool, so you'll be able to spool up more than once, as long as you back your spool up. We recommend that you use a 30lb Arma-Kord shock leader to take the force of the cast - you can attach this using a back-to-back grinner knot.
Krimps, This clever system will allow us all to reach brand-new heights of neatness in rig creation. The Krimps and Krimp tool have been designed to allow easy rig construction with stiff materials (at the moment we only recommend Hybrid Stiff, Mouth Trap and Boom). In particular, we're really excited about the potential to create extremely neat loops for chod rigs and Boom sections. Not only this, but using Krimps will allow you to create chod rigs that are exactly the same length each and every time. There are two sizes of Krimp available, which have been designed to suit different materials. The smaller one will suit stiff bristle materials like Mouth Trap and stiff coated braids, like our Hybrid Stiff, and the larger one is perfect for really thick materials (like 30lb plus mono or the 35lb Boom). The product development team went to extreme lengths to make sure that the Krimps and Krimp tools were exactly right, having to overcome various problems along the way. The complexity of getting the tool and Krimps just right has meant that this has been a long development, but we're sure that it's been well worth the wait.
