Never before has carp fishing seen such an aerodynamic, long-distance bait rocket. This will put yards on your spodding capability and in the hands of any good caster 150 yards is easily possible. It has a tapered design making it nose-heavy for a streamlined flight. This truly will become recognised as the ultimate long-distance spod. Its curved fins give it true stability in flight and help keep it in the air for as long as possible. Like the Skyliner, the Skyraider also has the large-profile holes making it just as quick to empty, and as easy to retrieve. As with all our spods, we recommend you mix in some groundbait or pellets into your mix. This will enable you to compact the mix into the spod to eliminate any spillage.
COG System, A lead system that betters the hooking qualities of an inline, yet casts like a lead clip, with all its safety benefits? It doesn't exist, right? Well, such a product has just arrived at Korda HQ. After what seems like ages in the development, the COG system is finally here, in physical form. COG stands for Centre of Gravity, which is a reference to the unique way that the hook link is attached to the heaviest part of the lead, giving instant, unparalleled hooking. Put simply, this system has been designed to convert more pick-ups into fish on the bank. When to use it then? Well, it's best used over firm lake beds like gravel, sand and firm silt, rather than weed, when you're better to reach for the Heli-Safe system. It can be cast every bit as far as a normal lead clip system, although when going for extreme range, it's worth dispensing with any PVA bags as the impact could force the half-swivel out of the lead. For margin work and placing from boats, the COG is simply unrivalled. Initially, there are just two lead shapes available, flat pear and distance, which should cover you for most fishing situations. The flat pear version is best used for closer range, lowering or dropping from a boat, whereas the distance version is the one to reach for if you're having to go long for your fish. One point well worth noting is that the COG boom sections are numbered (on the swivel) because it's essential that they are used with the correct lead. If you use the wrong boom with the wrong lead, the setup simply won't work as intended.
Black & White Bobbins, The Black & Whites are a bobbin that we believe offers the ultimate in performance and functionality, alongside classic style and versatility. They perform as well as they look, and they look great! There are four sizes in the range, and each comes with two interchangeable weights, so depending on the situation you are faced with, and what you want your indicators to achieve, you can customise the weight and tension applied to your line. Also supplied are two different length chains - the standard 6 inch and a longer 9 inch version - for you to choose between, depending on personal preference. The Hockey sticks that come with the Black & Whites are fully compatible with the Stow range of indicators, so once you have attached the magnetic bayonet-style hockey sticks supplied with your Black & Whites, you can change between styles instantly, without having to unscrew your alarms. The Black & Whites have a mechanism that runs through the body of the bobbin, allowing you to adjust the grip-strength of the line clip with a simple twist, again allowing for unrivalled customisation of the hanger. The Black & Whites are a two-sided design, one a solid white or black plastic, and the other a clear plastic that houses the super-bright new Mini Isotopes. We believe there is a bobbin in the range for every fishing situation you will find yourself in, and whether you choose the black or white version, you can do it in fine style with the glorious Black & Whites sat proudly on your set-up. Korda operations director Damian Clarke explained: “The original idea behind having clear and white came from an angler who was fishing on Becontree Lake, in Dagenham, he was making monkey climbers in that style and we thought they would make a great bobbin design. “The Stow indicators have been incredibly popular, but there are plenty of anglers out there who prefer a bobbin that hangs on the line, so the Black & Whites are the perfect choice for them. They have an integral, adjustable line clip, and have a very classic look which is different to other bobbins already on the market."
Square Lead, Rather than simply producing a standard bomb, which have remained largely unchanged since they were invented, Alex Bones decided to look at exactly what the modern angler needed from a lead. The Square leads are the result and they've been tailored to fishing on sloping lakebeds, such as those found around islands and margins. Because the fishing on many commercial waters now centres on these spots, it's vital that the lead can't roll down the slope when it's landed bang on the money. The flat sides of the square lead ensure that it won't. What's more, the dumpy, compact shape makes for the best bolt-rig effect possible, meaning that you'll hook more fish than with conventional leads. Because these leads are a little heavier than many used for match or pleasure fishing they are particularly effective at counteracting the drag effect of a PVA bag as it flies through the air. The Square leads are finished in with a coating that's been formulated to match the lakebed found in most commercial venues. There are three sizes of lead available, on third of an ounce, two thirds of an ounce and one ounce.
