The TackleSafe is the latest addition to our terminal tackle and rig storage range and is designed to sit alongside the existing RigSafe and ChodSafe products.
It is a compact end-tackle storage system within a hard clamshell-style case, secured magnetically, and with a soft-touch, non-slip outer coating, and featuring a ruler to assist with your rig tying. One side of it features an open compartment which can be used to story larger items such as spools of hook link material, Pulla Rig Toolz and scissors. The same half of the TackleSafe also has eight compartments which are accessed via flip top lids to ensure that the items contained within can’t accidentally spill out – it is perfect for things such as Heli-Safe Beads, Hybrid Lead Clips, and Fake Foods, for instance. The other side of the TackleSafe has two larger compartments with lids, which can be used to store packets of hooks, baiting needles. It also has a number of smaller, lidded, shallower compartments that can be used for storing swivels, rig rings shrink tubing, Kickers, and any other smaller items of terminal tackle.
Square Lead, Rather than simply producing a standard bomb, which have remained largely unchanged since they were invented, Alex Bones decided to look at exactly what the modern angler needed from a lead. The Square leads are the result and they've been tailored to fishing on sloping lakebeds, such as those found around islands and margins. Because the fishing on many commercial waters now centres on these spots, it's vital that the lead can't roll down the slope when it's landed bang on the money. The flat sides of the square lead ensure that it won't. What's more, the dumpy, compact shape makes for the best bolt-rig effect possible, meaning that you'll hook more fish than with conventional leads. Because these leads are a little heavier than many used for match or pleasure fishing they are particularly effective at counteracting the drag effect of a PVA bag as it flies through the air. The Square leads are finished in with a coating that's been formulated to match the lakebed found in most commercial venues. There are three sizes of lead available, on third of an ounce, two thirds of an ounce and one ounce.
Guru Keepnets, The Guru keepnets come in a choice of 2.5m Silver Match, 3m Carp Match, or 4m International Match designs to cover a range of situations and species, and they’re all built to last for many seasons. The rings are weighted to ensure that the net sinks properly and remains stretched out, and there is an external sleeve to protect the net from wear around the rings, one of the areas that has traditionally always been weakest and the first to wear out.A fish-friendly super soft mesh has been used so that you can look after your catch as much as possible, and a dark finish helps to keep the fish calm whilst they are in the net. An over-sized top ring has been used to make it as easy, and quick, as possible to put fish in it with the landing net, with a screw thread that can be adjusted to any angle for perfect positioning. When it comes to retrieving your catch at the end of the session, smaller lower rings (the bottom three) allow you to pull the rings through to help to get the fish out for weighing in or returning them.
Krimps, This clever system will allow us all to reach brand-new heights of neatness in rig creation. The Krimps and Krimp tool have been designed to allow easy rig construction with stiff materials (at the moment we only recommend Hybrid Stiff, Mouth Trap and Boom). In particular, we're really excited about the potential to create extremely neat loops for chod rigs and Boom sections. Not only this, but using Krimps will allow you to create chod rigs that are exactly the same length each and every time. There are two sizes of Krimp available, which have been designed to suit different materials. The smaller one will suit stiff bristle materials like Mouth Trap and stiff coated braids, like our Hybrid Stiff, and the larger one is perfect for really thick materials (like 30lb plus mono or the 35lb Boom). The product development team went to extreme lengths to make sure that the Krimps and Krimp tools were exactly right, having to overcome various problems along the way. The complexity of getting the tool and Krimps just right has meant that this has been a long development, but we're sure that it's been well worth the wait.
X-Safe Speed Stems, Developed by top match anglers Steve Ringer, Adam Rooney and Pemb Wrighting, a feeder or lead equipped with the X-Safe Speed Stems allows for ultra-quick re-casts - all you need to do is unclip the whole feeder or lead from the main line and attach a new ready-to-go rig. Using this system, the Guru team have won countless matches this year with the Speed Stems allowing anglers to have multiple feeders or leads set up and ready to recast within seconds of a fish or bringing a rig in, saving valuable minutes over the course of a match or pleasure session when speed is the key. Also incorporated into the stems is a Speed Bead, which allows hook lengths to be changed in seconds via a small quick-change swivel which pulls back into the bead to secure it to the rig. The stems fit Guru's existing method, pellet and Hybrid feeders and the inline lead range, easily slotting into the existing holes to make an instant quick change, elasticated feeder or lead set-up. Just tie a small loop onto the main line, secure it to the stem via the streamlined crook and small tail rubber, and it's ready to go. The X-Safe is the only safe elasticated system on the market, with the whole elasticated section easily pulling through the stem so any fish lost due to a main line breakage or picking up a cracked-off rig will be able to easily lose the feeder or lead. Top fisheries such as White Acres have recognised this safety aspect and now insist that anglers use the X-Safe system. The stems are available in two lengths for short and medium to long-range fishing and two elastic strengths black and white for targeting smaller or larger fish. For example, the black (heavy) elastic is great for larger carp and big bream whilst the lighter white version is perfect for F1s, bream, skimmers and smaller carp.
