The condensed shape of this lead, coupled with the two flat sides makes it the perfect lead for bolt rigs at short to medium range. By its very nature the flat pear lead lends itself to being fished on marginal slopes, the sides or back or gravel bars and in rivers. But, in fact it is one of the most effective shapes at short to medium range because it holds so well on the lake bed and offers fantastic impact hooking potential. We have also seen that this type of lead is by far the most like a stone on the lake bed and during the Underwater filming this lead blended in better than any other. There's a popular misconception that flat leads sit on silt. This does not happen, any lead finds the easiest path through the water so instead of fluttering down to the lake bed, a nose-heavy flat lead like this will plummet down side on and nose first, making it less effective in the silt than say a Swivel Pear lead. Having said that, it is devastating on gravel and is Danny's first choice in these close-range, hard-bottomed situations. Danny told us that, "When Underwater part 3 I tried a Flatliner Pear on the steep gravel slope to see if it really did hook the carp quicker than a swivel lead of the same shape. To my amazement it really did! I had been testing the lead clips for so long I had ignored the inline lead - not any more!"

We've been working on a solution to a problem that anglers been faced with for some time, how to safely and consistently discharge the lead when fishing with a helicopter setup. In order to be a true game-changing product, the Heli-Safe had to fulfill some important criteria... One such criterion was the ability to fish chod rigs at range. The heavy leads needed to fish at long range often become a problem once a fish is hooked. The combination of a very short hook link and large lead would often result in dropped fish. Likewise, venues that had been choked by weed often dictated that dropping the lead was paramount, something that just isn't consistently possible with conventional systems. The demand from anglers to produce a drop-off lead system for use in these situations pushed us to develop the product you see before you. The Heli-Safe System enables you to drop the lead when the situation calls for it. When used in conjunction with our unique Helicopter Safety System and unique No-Trace Beads, you can fish a rotary-rig setup in situations that would have previously led to the loss of hooked fish. The system works by employing a pressure-release function, not seen in the angling world until now. The latched lead clip will open once a hooked fish pulls against the angler, allowing the lead to drop free. By threading a Barrel Bead onto the leader above the Heli Safe, you will prevent the lead from discharging, should you pick up weed or other detritus on the retrieve. Once engaged in battle though, the bead will simply pull down and allow the lead to discharge. The unique design enables the angler to choose when to drop the lead, and when to retain it. In situations where it's not necessary to discharge the lead, a small plastic collar (which is supplied in the kit) can be fitted to fix the lead in place.

The Heli-Lead has been designed specially for use with the Heli-Safe bead. By fitting a ring to the lead loop, rather than a swivel, the attachment is kept super neat, yet flexible enough to ensure that the lead is only discharged when you want it to be. The leads are finished with a robust camouflaged paint that blends in superbly well over a range of lake beds and are available in sizes from 1.5oz up to 4oz.

This pattern is the brainchild of Tom Dove, who was looking to design a pattern of hook that had the aggressive sweeping shank of the Kurv Shank, with an enormous gape for maximum purchase and hooking potential. Throw in an offset point too and you have the Krank, a hook that's such a good hooker it's best used with a simple knotless knot setup! Tom had simple setups like his own 'muzza' in mind when he began the development process, but the end product is a much more versatile beast that ensures that not only will you hook more fish, but you'll land more too!

Ok, there are plenty of scissors already on the market, but we felt we could still improve on these. All the versions currently available are made in a dull, carpy colours, meaning that they are often lost on the bank. Not these babies! The handles have been manufactured in a bright Korda green, so if you misplace these you need to go to Specsavers! It goes without saying that the blades are sharp enough to effortlessly cut through all the rig materials that you use.

The Wide Gape hook has become a true design classic, and has accounted for more big carp than any other pattern. It was based on the cult Maruta Kinryu pattern that found favour with the likes of Terry Hearn in the 1990s. The five-degree in-turned eye, short shank, heavily forged bend and beaked point combine to give anglers a hooked-to-landed ratio far in excess of anything else that's achievable. It can be used for pop-up and bottom-bait presentations and is the hook to opt for when fishing for the very biggest and trickiest carp around.

Kable is Korda's first leadcore. Rather than simply producing a 'me-too' product, the product development team decided to try a unique, banded camo pattern in two colours, Weed/Silt and Gravel Brown. The carefully selected, alternating bands of subtle colour have the effect of breaking up the outline of your leader, making it practically melt into the lake bed. Kable has a breaking strain of 50lb and is available on 7m and 25m spools. It splices extremely well, producing strong loops for easy connection to the rest of your terminal tackle and main line. If you're looking for the perfect leadcore then you've just found it...

This hook was designed primarily for use with the popular chod and hinged stiff rig presentations, alongside a stiff filament like Mouth Trap. However, its appeal doesn't end there, it's a super all-round pop-up hook, which can be used with rigs like Darrell Peck's N-Trap pop-up rig, as well as Tom Dove's N-Trap bottom-bait rig. To allow the sweeping curve of the chod rig to continue unhindered up onto the hook, the Choddy has an out-turned eye. The rest of it's shape is based around the magical dimension of the iconic Wide Gape pattern, with all its attendant hold-and-hold capabilities. The Choddy is thicker in the wire than the standard Wide Gape, which makes it perfect for the biggest carp in the world. Darrell Peck has landed fish to over 70lb on the size-eights, which gives you an insight into the incredible properties that this hook possesses.

Baiting tools are an important part of any carp angler's kit, some people are happy to use one needle for everything. However, seeing as we are self-confessed perfectionists, we like to use exactly the right tools for the job. For that reason we have designed these little babies. We have produced the needles in mega-bright colours to minimise the chance of misplacing them. How many times have you dropped your baiting needle onto the grass and lost it? A lot I would guess. However, this is now completely eliminated with the super-bright handles on the Korda range of needles.

The Leadcore Chod Safety System is, without doubt, the biggest advance in rotary-rig safety EVER. The specially designed Chod Sleeves, Barrel Beads and No-Trace beads combine to offer a solution to the problems that consistent hook link ejection has dogged leadcore users for years. The single most important aspect of a helicopter setup is the facility that allows the hook link to travel up and off the leader should a carp pick up a cracked-off rig or become cut off during a fight. Previously, in order for the hook link to pass over the end of the leader, allowing the carp to ditch both lead and leadcore, a relatively small-bored helicopter bead had to pass over first. This was problematic if any weed or debris collected around the leader knot or spliced loop. The design of the Chod Sleeve and No-Trace Bead eliminates this problem. The hard plastic No-Trace Bead has a huge bore and, here's the clever bit, a slot in the side that allows it to drop off the leader entirely once it has popped off the coned Chod Sleeve. This allows the size-11 Ring Swivel to proceed up and over the leader knot with ease. Another industry first for Korda! We recommend that you use the system with strong, fast-sinking main line, such as SUBline or Kontour.

The Naked Chod Safety System is, without doubt, the biggest advance in rotary-rig safety EVER. The specially designed Chod Sleeves, Barrel Beads and No-Trace beads combine to offer a solution to the problems that consistent hook link ejection has dogged helicopter rig users for years. The single most important aspect of a helicopter setup is the facility that allows the hook link to travel up and off the line should a carp pick up a cracked-off rig or become cut off during a fight. Previously, in order for the hook link to pass over the severed end of the line, allowing the carp to ditch the lead and trailing line, a relatively small-bored helicopter bead had to pass over first. This was problematic if any weed or debris had collected on the line or beads. The design of the Chod Sleeve and No-Trace Bead eliminates this problem. The hard plastic No-Trace Bead has a huge bore and, here's the clever bit, a slot in the side that allows it to drop off the line entirely once it has popped off the coned Chod Sleeve. This allows the size-11 Ring Swivel to proceed up and over the end of the line with ease. The Naked Chod Safety System Barrel Beads and Chod Sleeves are tungsten-impregnated to help make sure that the rig is presented where you want it, on the deck. Another industry first for Korda! We recommend that you use the system with strong, fast-sinking main line, such as SUBline or Kontour.

It's perhaps most widely used sliding on the shank of a hook, forming the blow-back element of many rigs. Crucially, it has the same non-reflective coating that our other rig components are blessed with, eliminating any glint that might otherwise spook feeding fish.

Our marker elastic will help you to easily mark your lines, ensuring that you can fish accurately, even at night. Once you've found your spot and clipped up, simply tie the elastic to your line next to the tip, a specific rod ring or the spigot using the knot shown here.
